Space Oddity

It took months longer than I expected, but at last the dreaded constructive theology paper (Luther, Kierkegaard, and Bonhoeffer crammed into a blunderbuss and fired at the Holy Scriptures) is finally done. Since my master's paper is still to be done and there are a couple of other pots on the stove, blogging won't go back to full speed but will be more frequent and substantive than it's been.

So to start out with, I've been tagged by Aaron to list six odd things about myself.

1. I've often fallen asleep on El trains. I don't know why, but the CTA is like the transit equivalent of warm milk to me.

2. I have a paralyzing fear of heights. Climbing the stairs of the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona gave me a panic attack.

3. I've never been a Muslim, but I observed Ramadan (sometimes quite strictly) for five of the seven years between my junior year of high school and my third year of college.

4. Thanks to inattentive playing, poor form, and alcohol, both of my guitars have been splattered with my blood to the point of looking like murder weapons. Thanks to a morbid kind of vanity, I haven't cleaned them up.

5. I hardly ever listen to Bob Dylan any more because his music makes me painfully nostalgic for the unhappiest period in my life.

6. Sometimes I daydream about my life completely falling apart and starting an AC/DC-French literature tribute band called Ballsaq. Needless to say, I do not actually want this to happen.
